OzHarvest’s fifith annual Think.Eat.Save events kicked off last week around the country – an annual campaign to raise awareness around global and local food waste and its impacts. Not only some lucky Aussies got to sample a free yummy lunch but also to understand and learn how we can reduce food waste at home and save precious food, time and money. All these have positive impacts in the Aussie home but also within community.

We are proud as always to provide OzHarvest with all technical services and support for the Sydney’s Think.Eat.Save in Martin Place. Where the lunch time crowd gathered for winter warming soups made from rescued produce and prepared by the Chefs of ARIA, Rockpool, Restaurant Hubert and The Star. There were also cooking demonstrations from Masterchef’s Justine Schofield and author and nutritionist Jessica Sepel.

Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival 2017

For the 12th consecutive year, Austage Events were engaged to provide technical production and primary audio visual services for VAMFF. This encompassed more than 20 curated events, in 7 different venues, spanning over 2 weeks. The festival included 10 main runway parades, a 3-day Business Event series as well as a number of offsite events. The main runway was 65m long, utilising 450 moving and static lighting fixtures, LED screens and a 34 speaker distributed audio system.

We love making their creative vision a reality. 

VAMFF, being a celebration of creativity; our brief is always to create something edgy, exciting but also with a point of difference. Beginning with the campaign launch, we utilised projection screens, projection screens and more projection screens, with our full range of high powered Barco projectors and mapping software; we were able to nail a dramatic immersive experience. Wowing the guests while showcasing our video production abilities.

Nothing brings top Australian CEOs and Chefs together like OzHarvest’s CEO CookOff. CEO CookOff 2017 was no different. Matt Moran (ARIA), Neil Perry (Rockpool), Guillaume Brahimi (Bistro Guillaume) and Peter Gilmore (Quay) were amongst the 40 celebrity chefs, who provided supreme culinary guidance to designated teams of 125 CEOs. Together, they were able to feed over 1000 vulnerable guests with a gourmet three course meals. All of which was prepared from rescued produce.

Entertainment for the night was headlined by Aussie legend, Jimmy Barnes while Rove McManus and Sam Frost were the MCs.

OzHarvest was also able to raise nearly $1.7 million, a tremendous effort that will allow them to deliver 3.4 million meals to 900 charities across Australia.

We were the proud partner creating vision and draping.

RTX Sydney is a gaming and internet culture event hosted by Rooster Teeth. And was one of our more technically challenging events. We were responsible for all technical production for the two-day event with a live audience of 7000+ and two separate live streams to reach the virtual audiences. We made sure no one missed on anything from the 4 different, live event spaces. On site, the show crew consisted of 20+ operators all working across audio, video, lighting, cameras, content, webcast and production.

The World Festival of Magic was another event that Austage Event is truly proud to be involved with. It is the longest running magic show of its kind, where you cannot buy tickets to. The event itself was a magical experience for young and old alike; supported by the Variety – the Children’s Charity. The client brief was to “Make the Stage come alive” and that we did. Incorporating custom lighting design with no less than twelve LightSky AquaBeams, for each segment of the 2 show event.

Partnering with Alpha Bravo Tango (ABT) and Financial Planning Association of Australia, we provided all Vision components for the 2016 FPA Professionals Congress. In response to ABT’s concept, we used large scale projection blending on a custom built 18m x 7m set with a dynamic 8m screen integrated into different parts of the plenary. Bespoke content designed also by ABT were mapped using our 4x 20K Panasonic HD Projectors. All this visual effects were driven and controlled by a Christie Spyder.

Collaborating closely with a prominent media agency, we developed and delivered a highly dynamic visual spectacle for their industry VIP Awards Night. Utilising projection mapping and a combination of hi tech room lighting, our Technical Directors created the event’s industrial vintage theme with loads of wow factor. We also managed the complete design and custom production of all the opening and awards show content as per client’s specifications, as well as staging, lighting design and audio for the Awards After Party.

Austage Events successfully delivered all production services for the Mars – The Live Experience tour at all three locations of Melbourne Town Hall, The Hordern Pavilion and ANU Llewellyn Hall.

Presented by National Geographic Live and produced by Dean Francis of JJ Splice Films with event design and technical direction by Daniel Morgan of Austage Events Sydney.

Featuring Buzz Aldrin, NASA’s Jason Crusan, ESA’s Prof Mark McCaughrean, AstroKatie – Katie Mack, Richard de Crespigny and host Ray Martin

The show featured 4:1 aspect ratio 12m x 2.5m blended projection screen driven by Barco E2 Screen management system with custom content projected by Barco HDX projectors plus a Four HD camera shoot with multiple image magnification on screen at the same time.

The cinematic screen was supported by a new DVA T8 line array sound system that had more than enough power for the larger venues producing clear vocals and an overwhelming sound of a rocket lifting off.

Daniel also created a simple and effective lighting design for the shows and was kept busy operating each show on a Chamsys MQ80.
