The 2019 Dexar Convention

Each year the team have the pleasure of working on a three-day conference in some of Australia’s most beautiful locations.

The 2019 Dexar Convention, held in the gorgeous setting of Kingscliff, in the Northern Rivers region of NSW, challenged the team to provide AV across three separate and unique venues, after carefully transporting all production equipment from Sydney on an 8-tonne truck.

Eight technical staff from Canberra, Sydney, the Central Coast and Brisbane, were brought in to assist with the production, led by Senior Production & Account Manager, George Kastoun. The team provided all production across the venues including, Vision, Sound, Draping, Staging, Logistics and all production equipment.

The 250 pax event, held across three venues – Babalou (Welcome Party), Fins at Plantation House (Jungle Party) and Peppers Salt Resort & Spa (Convention) – each required a different look and feel; the team carefully planned the equipment taken up to deliver this. Features to ‘wow’ guests included a game show with light up podiums which buzzed when contestants struck them, dance floors, coloured up lighting in the trees and in/outdoor entertainment.

With only 3-months preparation, the team delivered an exceptional event experience.

GC Dinner

Part of the AOG 2016 week in Perth, we worked very closely with a Japanese Production Company and Performers. We created the event set up; involving 3x 20k projectors, displayed custom content onto 3x bespoke screens all controlled via the Spyder. Audio and lighting was also supplied by Austage Events. It was a very special evening for both the international performers and guests.

Multi-day Corporate Conference with Gala Event

Working tightly with our client Gluepot Productions, our team of Senior Technical Directors custom designed and built every audio visual aspects of this multi-day corporate conference. There were 12 separate events including gala dinners, plenaries, breakout sessions as well as a live performance over the course of 4-days, for a prominent Pharmaceutical brand.

Our vision for their brief, was to create something unique but also had a sense of wow. There was a combination of hi-tech room lighting and full audio design. However, the true star of the show was the 4x projector blend mapped on 15m x 14m screens integrated into an elaborate truss and stacked stage scaffolding set. This complex performance stage set up allowed for custom content projected on either side simultaneously but also a DJ box where headlining act; The Potbelleez performed, accompanied by dancers and all from within the actual scaffolding wall. An event experience unlike most corporate conferences.

Using: Projection Blending, Projection Mapping, Christie Spyder X20, Barco HDX-W18 HD Projector, 15m x 14m screens and Truss and Staging.
